This book is an anthology of texts by Joan Amades accompanied by educational guidelines and is aimed at teachers at all educational levels and also at the family audience. Since the beginning of language, stories, poems and tales have been used to transmit knowledge, values and cultural identity to successive generations. Literature of oral tradition, anonymous and collective, has been constantly reworked over the centuries by its narrators. From its oral beginnings to written compilations such as One Thousand and One Nights and Andersen's Fairy Tales, this literature has contributed to forging cultural identity, to demonstrating its universality and to reflecting human nature.
